Laboratory and pilot spray dryers
Lab Spray Dryer
Small spray dryers for R&D labs and process development, rated 5 to 20 kg/h water evaporation, with centrifugal, pressure or dual-use atomization.
What it is for
Prove the process before you build the plant.
Our lab and pilot spray dryers are used by research labs and industrial process departments to test new materials, set process parameters and make sample batches for customers.
Three types are available: centrifugal, pressure, and dual-use units that switch between a centrifugal atomizer and a pressure spray gun.
- Same atomizing principles as our production dryers
- Works with water and organic solvents
- Automatic inlet and outlet temperature control
- Atomizer oil temperature and pressure alarms
- Negative pressure display in the tower

Information we need
What to send us for a quotation
We do not sell spray dryers from a fixed model list. Every dryer is sized to the material, so these are the details our engineers ask for first.
| Material | Name, and what the powder is used for |
|---|---|
| Feed | Solids content (%), viscosity, temperature, solvent (water or organic) |
| Capacity | Powder output or water evaporation in kg/h, operating hours per day |
| Powder spec | Final moisture, particle size range, bulk density |
| Heat sensitivity | Maximum product temperature, if known |
| Site | Available heat source (steam, gas, electric, thermal oil) and building height |
If you are not sure about a value, leave it blank and we will work it out with you, or test a sample.
FAQ
Questions about this dryer
What sizes are available?
Five models rated 5, 8, 10, 15 and 20 kg/h water evaporation, giving 1–10 kg/h of dry powder depending on feed solids.
Can it dry organic solvents?
Yes, the lab units are suitable for a range of materials including organic solvents. For flammable solvents we recommend a closed-loop nitrogen design.
Can I test before buying a lab dryer?
Yes. Send us a sample and we run it on our own lab units first.
Next step
Send us your material. We will size the dryer.
Tell us the material, solids content and the capacity you need. An engineer replies within one working day, and we can run a trial on your sample in our test center.
